That's a dishonest spin of my comment (if you're referring to my comment). I merely stated I'd like to shoot someone if he gives me cause.

If someone is threatening me, trying to rob, or doing anything similar, I'd rather shoot him dead than placate him (like giving him my hard earned money).

Once again, you've been using the term "gun nut" in almost every post related to firearms and those who own them, and using it in a very derogatory fashion. Why can't you simply call them firearms owners and let it go? Do you truly believe that every individual who owns a firearm and supports the 2nd Amendment is a "nut"?

I use the term gun nuts to describe gun nuts. A percentage of gun owners are paranoid, insane, full of fear, and have visions of violence.

I agree Anne. I'm starting to think this isn't as much about security as it is about proving how macho-tough having a gun makes a lot of otherwise feeble people feel. The defiance that sends them rushing out to purchase personal arsenals plays a part too, now that the gratification of owning a death tool is being threatened by the government.

Yes and I've heard many echo the remarks made by Samuel Jackson in an interview about the movie Django, with the L.A Times, regarding video game violence: "I don't think movies or video games have anything to do with it. I don't think [stopping gun violence] is about more gun control. I grew up in the South with guns everywhere, and we never shot anyone. This [shooting] is about people who aren't taught the value of life."

This would be a valid point if we were all Samuel Jackson. But there are too many loonballs running around who didn't grow up like the famous movie star. Many of the deranged, although record-free law abiding misfits choosing to martyr themselves at the expense of innocent children, moviegoers or just anyone lurking near enough, may be unable to differentiate between what is moral, logical or not. And video games, violent movies or association do not soley create homicidal maniacs. But like many kinds of ills plaguing the planet, they are definite components contributing the to problem that should never be discounted as irrelevant.

Many of these people have been or know someone that has been a victim of violent attacks. Or even both.

I've been called a gun nut merely because my arsenal is rather large and I don't trust that many people.

Now having been the victim of a violent crime and unable to do anything about it. Does that make me paranoid or does that mean I am better prepared and much wiser than in the past?

The fact that you assume they are all nuts says a lot about the fantasy world you live in.

I don't wish harm on anyone but perhaps a violent encounter would open your eyes...

Repealing the Second Amendment = changing the law. Which is what needs to happen, to move the United States into the civilized world.

Two men seen walking down a Portland street armed with assault rifles told police they were exercising their Second Amendment rights and hoping to educate the public on gun rights.
Several calls were made to 911 on Wednesday afternoon, with alarmed residents reporting two men with guns strapped to their backs walking through the area of Southeast Seventh Avenue and Spokane Street in Portland's Sellwood neighborhood.
When police arrived on the scene, they found two 22-year-old men carrying rifles openly on their backs. The two were also holding valid concealed handgun licenses in Oregon, according to Fox affiliate KPTV.
The men reportedly told officers that they were seeking to educate onlookers about their Second Amendment rights.

LOL, i dont think these idiots really know what they are doing. I mean, come on, what is the point of displaying these assault rifles?
Nothing but attention whores.
This also applies everyone who thinks the Government is going to take away their guns and that they're going to put up some kind of fight:

The question is, how many people are they going to kill? They look like the next school shooters to me.

I think you are a bit paranoid yourself because you want nobody to have em. You are the one who is full of fear.

Us who own are actually the smart ones. We understand our rights and duties to protect ourselves where you are dillusional when you think the government will be there to save you.

It is a bit much for me, but if it is legal, so be it.
