Oregon, California, Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey, Florida, Tennessee, Virgina, Connecticut, Michigan....all still award lifetime alimony. Over 100 million people live in states where lifetime alimony is still commonly awarded. Just becasue you live in Texas, a state with reasonable laws, doesn't mean that over 100 million others aren't still living in states with statutes written in the 1950's.
I used to think South didn't reward lifetime alimony, like the Southern states mentioned.
I'll bet anything that most women initiate divorces because of emotional, verbal, or physical abuse.
Well, I suffer no illusions that the hypocrisy will actually register with you but it is notable that you complain bitterly about how misogynistic fathers' rights activists are while at the same time virtually everything you post on marriage or gender relations is wholly anti-man.

Double standards, man. It's okay for females to be misandric and blame relationship failures on men, but not vice versa. Otherwise, females and white knights would see that as hateful, complaining, and whining.
Simply put, nobody wants to hear from the normal man's perspective in regards to marriage and gender relations.

Whoa, not TN. I divorced twice in this state. Alimony is only awarded after 10 yrs. of marriage and and many factors are considered before alimony is awarded. TN also leans heavily towards rehabilitative alimony. You make it sound as tho it is an mandated automatic lifetime award. Thats just not true.
