Yep, the Republican insiders dumped them when they were no longer useful as an alternate brand name for them. It was absolutely predictable to everyone but the tea baggers who got used and then thrown away.
I love your analogy! especially the USED and thrown away part. I gotta give you +1. Post of the day!

It's really no surprise that the Tea Party is broke. Their funding has always been from billionaires and their organizations like American Majority, the Club for Growth Freedom Works and the Koch brothers -- who saw the T.P> as naive pawns to do the bidding of the wealthy.
But these billionaires were paying for results. They expected the T.P. to deliver candidates who could get elected. What they delivered was extremists who could win the GOP primaries but who couldn't win a general election -- leaving the House and Senate more liberal than if they supported Republican incumbents.
The bottom like is that if not for the Tea Party, the GOP would probably control the Senate today. So, yes Dale, there are a lot of morons who don't know about 2010, and they are from the right-wing.
Looks like there are a lot of morons who don't know about 2010.
No surprise, there.
Here's a moron for you, Joe Walsh {not the singer either} he was voted OUT.

Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to herald the defeat of Rep. Joe Walsh. The strident Illinois Republican was among the most vocal members of the raucous tea party caucus swept into Congress in 2010. But the voters of 8th congressional district put an end to the madness by replacing him with Tammy Duckworth (D).
The thing is that the GOP won in 2010 using a successful skeme to scaring seniors into believing that Obama Care means "death panels" and voting for the GOP, who always wanted to axe Medicare, would suddenly defend Medicare. It had nothing to do with Americans embracing Tea Party right-wing values.
Americans aren't as conservatives think they are. In polls, Americans say they are more conservative than liberal, but when asked whether they want strong government programs and protections, they say 'yes.'
