I read the UK's violent crime rate is twice the rate of the U.S. Haven't looked into it much though because it doesn't matter much.

The UK has lower total murder rate than the US gun murder rate.
The UK has a higher violent crime rate than the US but the definition of violent crime is broader than in the US.
