Mr. XXX,
I understand your frustration with seeing someone "you perceive" to be leaching off of a system...However, our perceptions do not always tell the whole story. I've felt the exact same way you have...someone wearing brand new shoes, designer pants etc...etc...at the food bank picking up food. I as you should remind ourselves perception is not reality.
As far as our Government programs (liberal or conservative)...I think that what you are seeing is just a sign of the times we live in...politically speaking the Government has to answer to ALL people...and in this information-age news travels fast...what does a government do in a country like ours? Look at Egypt...they took the direction that you speak of and what was the result? There are no real "Right" answers to the questions or problems you have...I just replied because at the same time i hear what you are saying...(and don't think its productive to judge you)...I just ask that maybe you consider all possibilities not just those that suit your perspective. Good day!
maybe they bought designer clothes from a thrift shop??
I wasn't spying...but when you see a husband and wife(i'm assuming they were married) each pushing a cart stacked with meats and junk food...Its not hard not to notice...And I wasn't the only one that noticed!!!
We truly dont know others situations, Who knows? you might be in whatever situation they are in pushing a cart!!!

You need to relax, dude. They're buying food, better than porn...eh?
As I keep repeating I don't have a problem with helping disabled vets, handicaps or someone down on their luck due to unforeseen circumstance such as illness...The reason I complain is when I see my hard earned tax dollars going to leeches such as the poster above you...And especially when you have 20000 ebt cards per month missing here in Mass, and then to have our liberal Gov come out proposing today to increase our sales income tax...yeah I do have a problem!!!
Did you just call me a "leech"? You seriously think that I'm using public assistance? Well, let me be very, very direct so you don't misunderstand: I am not using any sort of public assistance. That means I'm not using "your" tax dollars or anybody else's tax dollars to buy food or anything else. I do however support public assistance programs for those who need it. I'm really not interested in seeing people in our country suffering from starvation or even going to bed at night hungry. We all have a social responsibility to our community and our country. Those of you who think it's only about "me" have been completely and totally conditioned to think that way by the right wing think tanks and their use of Ayn Rand to indoctrinate you. Ayn Rand's work is so appealing to so many because she let's you and encourages you to feel justified in your greed and selfishness. Of course, it's interesting that Ms. Rand ended up living her last years dependent on Social Security. Be careful what you wish for, as you may end up just like Ms. Rand.
From reading what you post, you come across as narrow minded and hostile.
By the way, according to the ZipCode you have posted in your profile, the area where you live is PREDOMINATELY WHITE....if I remember correctly, the town has approximtely 28, 29,000 people and only like 6 or 700 are black. I'd guess that you don't have much poverty in that town, so it's amazing that you found this one woman, out of all the grocery stores in your town, that you could label a food stamp "leech." Yeah, right. Seems that this whole story is likely something from your imagination or something you "borrowed" from someone else's imagination after reading it somewhere else.

Reason: punctuation and typo
Why not follow them home?, and demand their shopping cart!! ha!!
As I posted to another poster "Let me ask you this...lets say the liberals here in my state of taxachusetts came out with a program that allowed low income families to purchase new cars...which in this state wouldn't be far fetched .....and you noticed one day that a low income family drove up to their section 8 taxpayer assisted living home with a brand new Mercedes Benz...You wouldn't have a problem with that...because according to you its none our business to micro-manage how they budget that taxpayer money"...

Gee really...so I guess that section 8 housing up the street from me is a mirage....And if you don't believe me call the town of Norwood, MA
BTW...like 6 or 700 are blacks....hmmmm..stereotyping blacks...they can't have money....sounds racism to me!!!!
Getting worried your EBT card will be taken away...
Since I am disabled, and type with one hand, and am eligible for EBT, I chose not to be on the program, not that it's yours or anyone else's business.
You're the person who whines on the P&OC forum the loudest and longest, so I would have to surmise that one who squawks the loudest and longest has skeletons in their closet. In other words, which form of government assistance are you suckling from? Tax breaks, or other. This has to be a sanrene clone.
Why don't you come clean and tell us all about the things you suckle from Uncle Sam?

Yes, they do. My spouse purchased a pair of jeans a while ago and we'd never heard of the name brand on the label. As it turns out, her $4.50 purchase was really worth $80.00, designer jeans, who would have thought.
