Well, I wouldnt exactly call it a b*tch slap, letting the GOP permanently extend ever three quarters of the Bush tax breaks! Although Obama finally did seem to get the message after the disastrous first election debate that he also has to look and act like a leader, and he also has to sell his ideas! IMO, he held onto the community organizer, ''can't we all just get along'' thang for way too long... which often invited and emboldened his enemies.
I just don't think fighting or confrontation is in his nature, even when it's clear they'll accept nuthin' less than his head on a platter! But agreed, this is a big improvement.

Yeah I don't have that much hope in Obama actually being strong against the gop he's been pretty weak so far. If anything he's done more caving in to the Republicans than actually fighting them, but we have another few years with him so I guess we'll see what happens.
I love the new bold and aggressive President Obama! I predicted that this would happen in his second term. This is what America has been waiting for. He has learned from his mistakes in his first term and I love what I am seeing so far. He has become a Cesar Millan to Republicans... in essence he is breaking them like you would break an unruly house dog.
The GOP has been completely out of control over the last four years. Radicalized by the Tea Party, they have morphed into something totally unrecognized by most Americans. They were overdue to be reigned in.
This is what i was waiting for too. I did kinda figure that he was playing his cards close to the vest in the first term.
But damn, he's coming out swinging HARD in this term. Hope he keeps it up. No quarter, no mercy.
Republicans are reaping what they have sown. When you make hate and bigotry the central tenet of your ideology, it is bound to implode on you in the end.
You mean, like the divisiveness and class warfare that the president wages? There's no hate or bigotry involved, right? Just class envy. I see.

No, "argue with them, get in their faces" is not confrontational in nature. Not at all.
Neither is this suggestion of creating a brawl confrontational:
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said... “Because from what I understand, folks in Philly like a good brawl."
Or, how about saying that Repbulicans can "come for the ride" but have to go to the back of the bus"?Obama relegating political adversaries to a seat viewed as a place of banishment for those rejected by an obviously politically prejudiced president. Yes, that might be a sign of his nature.
None of the above are indications of a politician willing to compromise, negotiate, or reason together.

You mean you love the master of manipulation who pussyfooted his way around his first term to dupe the nincompoops into electing him to a second term so he could unleash his radical socialistic ideals on the unsuspecting Americans and destroy the country to a point beyond recognition.
If he was a man of any integrity he would have come out full force on his first day instead of manipulating his way around trying to please everyone.

You must have missed it.
He tried, but the GOP was determined to make him a one-term president.
Perhaps you missed all of the comments and filibustering that they did.
It's easy to research.
