A recent survey was conducted on the continuing gun issue and as usual, the american people support the president and the democrats, while rejecting the NRA and other hard right stances.

Since the NRA's speech after the shooting, the NRA's approval ratings have plunged by 10%. Some other results show:

Only 41% of americans support putting armed police in schools.

An even biggest blow against the NRA/hard right, only 27% support arming teachers.

While 53% support tougher gun laws

and lastly on a side note, the GOP house has caused congress to have the lowest approval ratings in US history at only 7%

If the GOP keeps aligning itself with the NRA and allows Tea Party non-compromisers to rule, it will truly mean a further decline of the GOP.

Default Recent Poll Shows The American People Support The President, NRA Approval Plunges

Back in August, I didn't renew my NRA membership.

But that was all about their support for that sleazy lowlife Nugent. As a veteran, I can't be in the same club with that coward.

I'm not a member of any organization (well, former Sierra Club member), but I heard Gun Owners of America are a better organization to join than the NRA.

Public Policy Polling is an extremely left-leaning group. Hardly credible.

poles like this don't mean a thing. First off no rep. gets elected based on what people across the nation think. I.E. a Rep in Texas does not get elected based on what someone in San Francisco feels. So you can throw out all the poles you like in front of some Representative in Texas, Kansas or Wyoming and they will not give a rip. They know exactly who elected them and on what issues. So the NRA has a lot of sway with these Reps and it does not mater if they are Dem, or Republican. The only federal office that it mater's is president. The NRA knows its not in a beauty contest. Its in a fight that will get down and dirty. So your whole point is moot.

PPP was one of the most accurate pollsters in the november election, unlike the ultra-right wing rasmussen and unskewed polls that were so far off it was downright laughable.

Trashing the source just because you don't like the truth isn't going to change it

The other polls were closer the last time.

A polling group that works for democrat campaigns is not credible on this topic. In case you missed it, Americans are voting with their wallets on this subject.

They are not credible because they were one of the most accurate? OK LOL!
