Immediate solutions to many issues appear to be the wrong answer later on.

Examples:
Iraq war on poor evidence of WMDs, they had none. Years later Al Qaeda survives many rough skirmishes and are reorganizing.

Stimulus bill due to a few bankers scaring the congress. Turns out the banks used most of the money to fund their own pockets.

...And now these gun law restrictions, while not understanding much about the mechanics of the different guns.
Because they think if they don't do this now, they will pay for it later at the voting booth. But, it's different in the case of guns. When it comes to guns, it's a now or never issue. I was mainly referencing poorly thought out things like sex offender registration made public, or how some lawmakers wanted to make draconian changes to law right after the whole Casey Anthony fiasco, climate change etc.

Sex offender info being made public is not a knee jerk reaction. And Sex offender registration should be public! People have a right to know so they can protect themselves and or their children. When you choose to commit a crime such as that it is a choice you made on your very own. And the consequence to that crime is that you are put into a data base and it is made public.

So then by your logic, since we don't know which gun owner is gonna go nuts on parade and kill 40 people again, we should publish a list of gun owners on a publicy available website so we know who is a gun owner and who isn't? After all, I don't want me or my kids to die the next day because the person decided to shoot everyone in the neighborhood up the next day

Only the lefty pubic looks to the government for answers. Laziest bunch of entitlement moochers, EVER! They'll never know the satisfaction of achieving on their own.

They're not being hasty - their agenda is very deliberate. They are simply following Rahm Emmanuel's advice:

Besides holding elections, how can the public public balance the budget?
