My take is that we revert to guns available when the 2nd amendment passed.

Sorry to burst your bubble. Even nukes are legal to own. The trick is getting the fissile material and then complying with federal regulations in storing said material.
If not semi autos or 50 calibers, just what guns does the second amendment protect? The supreme court has decided that it is an individual right. So what guns are OK under the second amendment?

The first prototype semi-automatic firearms pre-date the 2nd ammendment by 50 years.
Private citizens owned artillery and even battleships that were conscripted into service.
