It's almost incomprehensible the toll of automobile injury and violence in the U.S when you look at the numbers.

Each year in the U.S. there are over 32,000 deaths due to automobile accidents a year, about 2,700 a month.

This costs the U.S. billions annually including costs for medical care, mental health, emergency transport, police, criminal justice and lost taxes.

When lost productivity, lost quality of life, and pain and suffering are added to medical costs, the annual cost of automobile accidents could be as much as 100 billion dollars.

Default 2700 deaths per month from auto accidents

I think it's high time we ban alcohol.

Aftter all, if Ted Kennedy had not got drunk that fateful night,
he could have been president, and MJK would still be alive.

We should outlaw all vehicles that travel more than 25mph. This would surely reduce injuries and death.

'Sides no one needs to go 26mph anyway. It's unecessary.

Maybe the U.S. Department of Transportation could give all fast moving dangerous vehicles to Mexican drug lords.

Just some more lame conservative logic..

Both guns and cars cause around 32k deaths per year.

91% of households own a car.

33% own a gun.

Cars are used daily to make Americans more productive and make a living.

I'm pretty sure we have a bunch of driving laws and restrictions with more new ones being introduced all the time. Same same? Different?

An excellent point that I make all the time. If we were serious in America about saving the lives of, especially young adults, people. We would move away from the ubiquitous use of the automobile to something more environmentally friendly and safer.

Only on public property. There are no driving restrictions or automobile restrictions on private property.

Done done.
