As I read a lot of the threads here I become increasingly concerned about the views of Liberal vs. Conservative.

I find it hard to believe that you Obama loving Liberals actually agree with deficit spending, over reaching government controls and politicians double talking issues and not getting anything done.

To be clear, our financial problems started with Clinton and got way worse under Bush.

The following societal issues should not be up for public debate at the federal level:

Gay marriage - States Rights
Gun Control - States Rights
Food Stamps - States Rights
Unemployment - States Rights
Education - States Rights
Healthcare - Individual & States Rights

These hot button issues are for the people of their respective States to decide. When the federal government is involved the issues become clouded and our Senators & Representatives use these issues as jump offs for more federal spending. There hasn't been a bill passed in the last 12 years on these issues that did not include totally unrelated spending measures. This is corruption of the highest order.

Our "Bumper Sticker" mentality is beginning to create problems we may never solve. If you don't take the time to really educate yourself about what our government is doing, it will be too late.

Conservatism in a nutshell is about scale. As a conservative you believe every problem should be solved in the simplest and most economical way. If there is no simple solution, then the problem is too big and then it needs to be broken into smaller pieces. This is true with both fiscal & social issues.

Q: Aren't all conservatives Bible thumping Christians?

A: No, there are a good number of conservatives who align themselves with Christian values. But you do not have to be a " Religous" person to be a conservative.

Q: Why do Conservatives preach about God & Country?

A: Religion, whether Christian or Otherwise, deals with Virtue & Morals. The Bible, Quran, Torah, Sique, & Buddism all include Morality Tales about dealing with your fellow man. Having Morals means you understand right & wrong. Having virtue means you have the courage to act on those Morals.

In our Hipster World, the world of occupy, the world of anonymous or our digital generations. We have lost sight of "Community". Or, Dare I Say, you younger Liberal types have not redefined community into terms other people can identify with. My Opinion.

Take "Occupy" for example, a bunch of disenfranchised College students upset because they can't find meaningful work in their fields of study. While upset about the stores of wealth controlled by Wall Street.

That is "Envy", you want a job paying you top wages in a field of study no one feels you are worth getting paid for. And you observe the wealth that other people accumulated by their actions and you want it too.

But you are not willing to work for it? Not everyone on Wall Street went from College to Multi Millionare. There were a few years of struggle in there. There was some risk taking. There was a lot of work involved.

Anonymous, the collective, even in this group there are rules of engagement. There is a protocol. Black Hats and White Hats. What does the collective want, ultimately Anarchy. Why? Because from Chaos the Collective can redefine the system and thereabouts bring order.

Basically, the same things we all want. No Struggle, No Sacrifice, No Risk.

This is a pipe dream. Without struggle there are no solutions, without sacrifice there is nothing worth fighting for and without risk, there is no reward.

If you don't work for it, you didn't earn it. There is a fundamental tenant of conservatism. Knowledge is not free, it is acquired, you learn. From your learning, you take action. From those actions you are either rewarded or punished. The information you gain from those actions is priceless. People & Corporations protect that knowledge. Why shouldn't they?

If you made it this far, thank you. Now let's debate!

I consider myself a conservative and agree with a lot of what you say.

I also disagree with some.

My biggest disagreement is, "Gun Control - States Rights". The Constitution trumps ALL states laws. The 2nd Amendment holds first position over "rights".

I do however, agree there are some things the state can do without violating the 2nd Amendment.

The 2nd protects us from the over reach of the Federal Govt. it does not protect us from our State. This was by design.

Most State Constitutions have provisions similar to the 2nd. But if you think those cant be amended, well.

The Big Controversy, currently, Newtown CN. A terrible tragedy, but not a gun control issue. CN has a tough gun provision. It didn't apply to the Crazy Guy who's Mom taught him to shoot and then steals the guns from his Mom.

Chicago, IL. Very tough gun controls. Did not stop the gun violence.

I knows these points are beat to death. But they are facts.

Stupid people do stupid things, but our government reacts to the few and punishes the many.

This was never intended and is a prime example of the corruption we are currently living with.

We know Al Gore created the Internet, which created the additional revenues Clinton enjoyed for his 15 min of deficit fame. However, the bubble popped as he left office.

Clinton was drunk with power. As I said, it started with him and got worse with Bush.

Try again..

Thank you for making my Bumper Sticker point. Those details will always bite the uninformed in the A$$.
