Who's ashamed? I've referred to myself many times as a "proud bleeding-heart San Francisco liberal," and most of the others here seem proud too. But we're proud of what liberalism really stands for, not what some of you seem to think it means. We also don't like baseless blame, which is what you're doing by simply shouting "it's all the liberals' fault, what do you expect from a liberal, etc." You use it like an insult, which will obviously put someone on the defense... like calling someone a "typical Southerner" in a snide way. I imagine that would grate on a Southerner's nerves, mostly BECAUSE they're proud of being Southern, and don't appreciate the term being used incorrectly or offensively.

LOL! I went to private schools for most of my life, but the majority of my friends went to public... and they all turned out just fine! As long as you give them a good foundation, they should be able to apply it in any type of school. I don't have kids yet, but I imagine this will still be my philosophy when I do.

It just amazes me that those who oppose the pill, sex education, and any other form of contraception yet also oppose abortion.
....what a completely confusing life we live as Americans! lol
