Just so it's clear you find people accidentally shooting themselves or others funny?

Tyranny won't stand a chance when faced with such skill.

Just like these reports today.
There is always a risk with gun, it's a big responsibility to own. Just as you have irresponsible drivers you have irresponsible gun owners. We don;t paint the entire poupaltion that drives as irresposnible so there is no reason we should do that with gun owners.

Is failure to unload a gun before taking it to a gun show, and accident, or just stupidity?

Without knowing, I bet I know what the one with the .45 even did. You NEVER load a round in the chamber by hand and hit the slidestop. You always strip it off the magazine, put the safety on (if it has one)...I think it was a 1911 so it did have. Pull out the magazine and top it off for the round you stripped. Two reasons for this... not only do you not have to c*ck the hammer with your thumb (in which it could slip off)...you also aren't slamming the slide, extractor and floating firing pin down on the chambered round under battery, thus nearly 100% sure you won't have a slamfire if the firing pin gets stuck. Win-win and nobody gets hurt. Keep that finger off the trigger at all times. If it's a Glock, XDm or M&P, no hammer, no worries...just keep that damn finger off the trigger at all times. On a Sig Sauer, use the decocker instead of your thumb.

Some people are so dense when it comes to basic weapons function.

It's against the rules and you WILL get kicked out for it. Stupidity for sure.
