Yes it was said and it was 630 Mexican's killed along with the capture of Generalissimo Santa Anna. Sam Houston's troops caught them napping. I've been to the battlefield. What is your point in comparing a battle that took place in 1836 to today?

Many of those saying "Remember The Alamo" were Mexican's themselves. If you ever visit the Alamo (or even online) you will see the names of all who died in the seige. Quite a few were Mexican. Tejanos were (and still are) largely Mexican/Mexican descent. It is only the Anglos that had the big names like Crockett and Bowie. Texas has it's history intertwined with the Mexican people (all the border states do) and we don't have problems with the people themselves - just the drug problem and constant illegal border crossings. The rest of the USA has the irrational fear of Mexicans.

I'd personally feel better if they were deployed at the border to stop the flow of crimmigrants.

If possible, watch the wonderful movie "Viva Max", starring Peter Ustinov, John Astin, Jonathan Winters and Pamela Tiffin, and directed by Jerry Paris.

In a nutshell: the Mexicans retake the Alamo!

I don't think so. Here is the list. Looks like 99.9% that defended the Alamo were Anglo.
