I think this is misleading, most countries don't define rape the same way the US does, it is rarer to report in other countries, especially the third world since the victims could end being the ones that get punished. In African nations rape is used as a weapon against villagers in many areas. I'm sure that the US isn't the rape capital of the world, we just prosecute many more rape cases.

I agree it probably wouldn't be reported in some middle eastern or african countries. I do NOT think that rape is less reported in the UK than the US. And the whole thread is based on the the assumption of the OP that the UK is more DANGEROUS than the US.

I was thinking this when I read through the thread as well. Some countries find it acceptable to take ten-year-old girls and make them concubines. Even if they call rape what it is, many countries do not have a system or make it socially unacceptable to report rape. Rape is often a misnomer in the US. I'm sad to say it, but I've known several women who claimed to have been raped to get back at an ex or excuse their behavior for something else.

Hey Mods do me a favor and change the title to "UK Citizens committe more crimes per 1,000 people than US citizens) that woud help thanks!

Katzenfund where are you getting your statistics do you mind giving me a link, so we can both fairly scrutinize the data. I also fail to believe the US is the "rape" capital of the word. Considering your data seems to point more towards total rapes 89,000 rapes per 100,000 people in the US i think not. Maybe 89,000 rapes accrued in the US in total.
If your stats are true than on total more than 2.67 billion rapes occurred in the US. Is that true? If so i'd say it would be much more dangerous for a woman to live in the US than for a man.

by the way, the website lists them in both forms, total numbers AND per capita. I just double checked, the other numbers I posted were per CAPITA, not to be confusing...

Oh Katzenfreund, how decepitve we are. Thanks for the link very cool site overall, but now we are playing with a fair and balanced leveled playing field. Let's really debate this. Funny you omitted this tid bit about assualt and the UK

In terms of Assualt Victims the UK is

#2 in the world per 100,000 people
NationMaster - Assault victims (most recent) by country

the US 11th

You were very dishonest with a lot of your data. Worse off you tried to silence me and not engage in a fair debate very naught and you should be carded for that both you and the mod, that conspired. Truth hurts

What are you talking about? You are really stepping over the line now.

If you looked at the stats they are self explanatory. I just looked at a bunch of different ones, and posted one that had the total numbers, instead of per capita. The others are all per capita. I even posted both numbers and checked my other stats to be sure. And I provided you a website, so go check for yourself all you want. Geez.

And what mod conspired, I don't know any mod's here? If you have something to say, spit it out.
