Whether or not people want to be juvenile and bring in silly racist jokes, the fact is that lower income blacks tend to be overrepresented amongst the violence stats in America. But this problem is also pervasive amongst African populations in other places in the world (outside of Africa)..notably the Caribbean and some parts of Europe.

It appears there is a tendency for violent behaviour and poor impulse control amongst some of them. Admitting the problem and then beign realistic is a good start, but when folks like Bill Cosby try to speak up, they're ignored, and the elite love to exploit the unfortunate for their twisted means. Consequently, this problem of black violence in America has gotten way out of control. It goes all the way down to being taught peaceful ways and maintaining a dignified culture. Look at some other ultra violent groups like Arabs, Pakistanis & races likely to be muslim. They don't get half the publicity nonmuslim blacks do but they are just as violent IMO, and it's foolish to assume their religion and culture have little to do with that. It isn't just genetic predisposition for violence they might have.

Guns are only 1 problem with the poor black community. IThe origins of behaviour need to be examined to find solutions, and I think this goes back to their upbringing and culture, opportunities available and ability to make better choices. That this shooting happened on MLK day is just irony added to the mix; this sort of thing happens all the time in places like Chicago and Detroit.

I've been rude to you?

Well, not rude to me in particular, but your first comment was rude.

At the same time? I recognize attempts to steer things into the ditch. But whatever....so what are you? As I said earlier, I don't mind answering the question as to my political philosophy. Why should you mind doing the same. A socialist? Neo-conservative, what? And how old are you?

When it comes down to brass tacks? All you are doing is throwing up a cloud of fog under the cover of sound-bytes.

But bud? Again, don't make the mistake of condecending to me because you are getting peeved that I am honing in on your own motives. I am not much impressed, much less intimidated by all that.

And anyway, to go back to the beginning? You are the one who first attempted to deflect. And everyone knows it...
You're one to steer your ship in the direction you want to be heading, even when everyone else on the ship is yelling, "Captain, there's an iceberg right in front of us!". And who is this "everyone"? Those who think the same as you do? Because those are the only ones who I foresee agreeing with you on that. You obviously have trouble understanding that when I say, "I go at the left just as much as I do the right"....that that means, maybe I just like to sit back and have a big hearty laugh at you all; and trust me, I do. You can search my history on this politics forum and see that i'm on neither side, for I like to head in the direction that will help me arrive at some semblance of just what the "truth" may be. It's just that when you begin to understand geopolitics, macroeconomics and social theory you have a habit of steering your ship into those waters occupied mainly by the "lefties". If those directions send me into the oceans of the "right" so be it, or if it sends me into the straits of the "left" so be it. From my 24 yrs of study of these subjects(I'm 37 yrs of age, by the way, but i'm sure you just want to know my age so you can chalk up what i'm saying to mere immaturity) only a fool would take a firm stance on an "either or" grounds. One of my favorite quotes is from Harry Truman who said, "i'd either been a politician, or a piano player in a ***** house".....because this political game is just that, dirty business. So, we'll never see eye to eye on these subjects, and I don't really care. I'd still have a beer with ya, because those sweet sweet suds care not of what either of us think concerning the silliness that goes down on the big political playground we inhabit. I've typed to you in those post back(in condensed form, because I don't come here to read nor write novellas) some of my ideas pertaining to what is happening now and what has happened in the past. My deepest regards if i've been difficult to read or understand.

Good lord! Would you just answer the question. As close as you can, even. How do you, personally, describe your own political philosophy?

LOL First of all, dont flatter yourself, podner. You are not difficult to read nor understand. In fact, that might be part of the point. As in, you are lots of times too easy to read and understand.

But ok, all in all, now you seem a bit more reasonable. Hell, one of my best friends is a flaming yankee liberal and he and I don't and still dont agree on much more than that the sun comes up in the east and sets in the west! LOL We'd sit there and kill off a case of beer while pounding the table, and hollering and pounding the table. I thought he was as full of shlit as I thought he was...but I liked him and respected his honesty...

Anyway, I am not a hard guy to get along with. And yeah, even though I think you avoid a lot of hard questions? I would not mind at all having a beer with you. Or several, in fact. But who is buying?

Kinda funny, but I actually like, in lots of ways, spending beer time with those I vehemently disagree with, than those which I do. Maybe it is because I am naturally a congenialy combative person...or maybe I just like beer and arguing!

Oh yeah, I like that quote by Truman, too! LOL

I already said that i'm not hard to read, but if I was please accept my deepest sincerest apologies. I'm also sorry if you think i'm deliberately trying to muddy the waters, with my not telling you what exactly my political posture is while we toss words back and forth at each other on this here adult playground. I thought I did, though, by saying that I really don't fully subscribe to either of the main camps(liberal or conservative); but I will say that if I had to choose right here and now it'd probably be with the looney *******s. I'm somewhat of a Keynesian guy, I believe that everyone should be afforded the same civil rights, I believe that everyone deserves the same justice(money shouldn't be able to buy you the best lawyer to get you off.....Lady Justice is supposed to be blind to that), I believe healthcare is for everyone and the best of it should be for everyone(no matter how much moola you got), I believe education should be top notch for everyone(again no matter how much moola you got), I believe that the people have a right to bear arms but that there also have to be regulations on who and what type of those arms someone is bearing, I believe that I probably believe a few more things....but I believe that i've said I believe enough for this moment in time. Some of my favorite folks to toss the brewskis back with, are those who generally are the furtherest from me on the political spectrum, and I know for a fact that the table wouldn't stand a chance with the two of us beating the ever living splinters out of it going back and forth over issues! It's always fun, TexasReb. I'm gonna go retire for the night and waste a few brain cells on the boob-tube. 'Til we type at each other again. Godspeed
