All hail the wise and all-knowing Rush. All Hail the omnipotent Hannity, His son. All hail the the holy Beck. All bow to the holy conservative trinity that will protect us from the evil progressives and forgive us our sins of rational thought.

The rest of you should now better than to blaspheme these holy and honorable dieties. Now behave and drink your Kool-Aid.

As a Canadian who has easy access to American media and who also has an interest in the country, the main thing that strikes me is how intense the divide is. Well atleast in online forums and Fox news (which I find entertaining )

LOL! Who? Rush, the drug addict? The one that committed a felony against his own physician? The fat pig that won't even appear in a debate, even wearing double Depends? That freak could only be hired by one group - the Repugnicans. Where else would an imbecile of his inferior intellectual ability be able to work? Either there, or frying burgers.

You could always listen to that disease ridden pig Clinton on how to cheat on your wife and lie to the world and tell the world you are a patriot while ordering airstrikes. What am I saying, he is probably your hero

Robin, why don't you try reading just plain history books, rather than politically-motivated bs by politically-motivated nutjobs?

Obama is hyper-leftist.

Truman was ratiomal, JFK was a tax CUTTER.

FDR was worthless, but fooled America. He started much of the social-program, sugar daddy mentality that has addicted so many Americans. His policies turned a recession and turned it into a depression.

Do you really think I am going to let you get away with your LIES??
I was around, and I did listen to Goldwater, and you are absolutely correct. Today's GOP are a bunch of spineless wimps, apparently eager to compromise the liberty of Americans in order to side with the anti-American Democrats. Something Goldwater would never have tolerated.

Obama is a true dyed-in-the-wool Marxist fascist. His most recent Executive Orders attest to that fact.

Truman only appeared rational because he had a GOP controlled Congress. The samething is true for Clinton. Clinton never moved to the right voluntarily, he was forced to the right by the GOP controlled Congress who overrode his vetoes or passed legislation with a veto-proof majority, like the Welfare Reform Act of 1996. Under both Truman and Clinton, by the way, were the only two times in the last century that the budget was ever balanced, and both times the GOP controlled the House.

FDR was a socialist fascist who became King of the US for life. No President, before or since, has done more lasting harm to the US than FDR. Which is why the Democrats worship him so much.

Even the Republicans have moved to the left in a big way. I recall when the GOP strongly advocated abolishing the Departments of Engery and Education as being unconstitutional, but now they fund both departments just as much as any low-life Democrat. It was not that long ago either. Reagan campaigned in 1980 to abolish the Department of Education.

Quite simply, it's because we have people on one side that do not believe in individual rights, as our founders did (Barack Obama is one, and Elizabeth Warren is another, just to name two). They do not believe that the money we earn as a result of our labor belongs to us either, but it belongs first to the Government.

On the other side are those of us who see the U.S. Constitution, as a timeless document, articulating timeless principles of self government. Liberty and freedom are the natural right, and the natural yearning of all mankind. They abhor those who wish to take it away, in favor of some collectivist Utopian society. The world has "been there and done that" many times. The result has never been pretty, and it has never led to anything good.

So what is it about blacks that makes them incapable of visiting their state DMV office to get a state issued photo ID?

Why can whites do this but not blacks?

As for those polling times and places, I believe most of the Florida districts in question are run by Democrats.

As someone who has played for both teams (politically) I will address this.

Follow the money.

We are just emerging from the greatest recession since the depression of the 1930's. What you are seeing is what happens when millions are forced into "survival" mode. Myself included. I voted republican since 1984. Not anymore. You see, when I was down on my luck due to the great recession it wasn't the republicans who had my back. It was the democrats.

It's this little thing called empathy and compassion.

Sometimes humans need a little help when things have soured through no fault of their own. The republicans viewed someone like that as part of the problem that should be kicked to the curb. I wasn't asking for a permanent hand out.

I don't waste my time arguing with republicans.

My only retort to all of their shaming is one word.

SCOREBOARD.

I don't play for team republican anymore. And millions of people like myself have switched allegiance.

How do I know this?

SCOREBOARD.

We live in a very multicultural country where people don't have solidarity. Too many different cultures and mentalities and not much agreement on where this country is gong.

This even affects people in the same groups, for example you have whites against whites because of things like immigration and how we spend our taxes.

This 'melting pot' isn't melting into each other. Seems like people are more busy pointing fingers at one another instead.

The main reason why you see more argument on the internet rather than the street is because most people don't like confrontation.
