Sorry, I had to throw that in.

Seriously though. I've had to live paycheck to paycheck because of my age and lack of experience ((2 years at a chicken restaurant...)) when I first got out into the world.

I'm starting to get better though. And it's because I was lucky.
I'm glad to hear that things are getting better but its not because you were lucky, your working for it.. Dont pass off your hard work as just plain "luck".. There is no luck in work..

I know you were responding to someone elses' post PGHQuest however, I must chime in. First let me start by saying that I don't consider myself Republican or Democrat, I normally vote for those who address issues and offer solutions to those things that affect me personally or my family.

With that being said, I will have to agree that things were better when Clinton was in office and since Bush took office, things have deteriorated downhill - and I'm commenting only on my personal experience. Placing blame on "one" individual I will not do, because I firmly believe that the problems which effect our Country as a whole are the result of the entire Administration along with Congress - so the blame can be spread throughout Washington.

Your opinion may be that your life has been better off with Bush than Clinton but it's all relative to what "tax bracket" you're in. Those individuals who earn a six figure income may say they are better since Bush took office however, middle class working folk like myself are slowly drifting into the "poor" category, and on my end, it's not for lack of education or work ethic

Actually my belief is that life is worse for most. Some can say I'm better off, finances are better, but I'm working 15+ hrs days 7 days a week to move the business along. (lucky I guess to have to much work) Some would say I'm worse off because of work, I cant argue with them. Even though times have changed under Bush, I think that has very little to do with "Bush", or even Congress and put most of the blame on individuals themself.

Very few people can name one thing of substance either has done this year. I put the blame on citizens expecting more, no wait, demanding more, individuals charging credit cards to an all time level to try to keep up with the "Jones" and everyone looking and wanting more even though they cant afford it. Even fewer people are looking long term finances to plan "life" events.

The economy started taking a dive during the Reagan "trickle down" years. I assume that any monument to him will have to be a urinal.

People don't have health insurance, can't afford to save... one good medical problem will bankrupt almost any family.

I'm middle class, mainly because I'm single. I take care of myself only and am lucky enough to be in decent health.

I won't be able to retire in the US, though. I can't afford it.
