When did MLK ever talk about equality for gay rights during his speeches? I must have missed that part of the speech.
Matt,
Do you know who was one of the most important organizers of the March on Washington where King gave that speech?
Do you know who was one of King's closest advisors?
Do you know that that person was a known homosexual?
Do you know the name Bayard Rustin?
And do you really think that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., would be opposed to the extension of civil rights and justice to a man whose sexual preference he defended against others in the Civil Rights movement?
Seek out knowledge, verify your opinion against fact, then post your conclusion based upon those facts so as not to appear the fool.
I know if I were a Black I would be totally offended he used my day as a day to suck up to the gays & lesbians when they have their own holiday.
Its a commonly known fact homosexuality is not accepted anyways within the Black community. Its poked fun at, no pun intended.
Funny I'm black and I'm not offended, I could not be more proud that our President stood up for the equability of all Americans. The only commonly know fact is you don't know a thing about the black community.

Obama had to suck up to all the young people who voted him in because they support gay marriage. Like it or not, this is the primary social issue of our day. It's also the most divisive as you either have to stand 100% for everything the gay lobby asks for or against it. There is no issue more polarizing today than this. Not even guns, which there are plenty of moderates on is as divisive.

What's the gay lobby asking for? Equal civil rights? How dare they ask for that! Don't they know those are only reserved for heterosexuals.
So what did Obama actually do on MLK that has the conservos in such a tizzy?
