I have a hard time believing that these are taught in schools. I could except the arguement on anal, oral and gay sex but this would not be exceptable. That is some sick stuff.
I have never had it brought up or heard of it being taught, but then sometimes I think I've been living in a mason jar.
Why am I not getting a picture of you in a mason jar (although I happen to have some extras)....I think we need more concrete data on this. After working in some of the roughest neighbours in NYC, and the poorest across NYS, I have never heard a single mention from an educator or an adolescent that these were subjects for discussion.
Furthermore, I have attended 2-day, 3-day, week-long events with youngsters as part of health education programs within and outside of schools, and no mention was ever made of anything like these references. And I underscore never.
And PS - the events I mention were over-nights and provided much leisure time for casual discussion!

It actually makes sense in some ways. Just look at how much fuss the "War on Christmas" gets because one town of 30 does something out in north dakota. I think all it takes to spark a sex-ed wildfire is one posting (of dubious accuracy) on FreeRepublic.com and then it's a national issue. I agree with your assertion about the rarity if it all.

I think most people IMO believe that that type of sexual activity is "Deviant" and really not the norm. I would be very suprised (even from liberals) if they approved that type of education being taught. I would also have to see proof before I would believe that it is. Again, If you don't want your kids to attend a sex. ed class don't sign the permission slip or go review the material first. Parental responsibility.
Yeah, I agree, of course discussion of sexual acts that might be listed as fetish or deviant (fisting... and once I came across a truly disturbing porn involving a vagina and a man's head [as in, cephalad]) shouldn't be included in high school sex education. That's a little too comprehensive.

Having given birth to an 8 lb baby, and can I just say OUCH, that leaves me with only one question - WHY?
It doesn't matter where your kids learn this stuff. No offense to parents here who think they are doing a good shielding their children from it all, but you're not. I learned about a lot of this stuff when I was in fourth grade, or TEN. Looked at porn at my friends house who had the internet when I was in fifth grade, or ELEVEN. I expect my kids to explore this stuff as well. No matter how many blocks you put on your computer, they will still see the stuff unless you prevent them from having any sort of social life and going over to friends houses.
Tough, it happens. I'm not some liberal brainwashed idiot or nothing, I'm fairly conservative, but sex is something that has always been very open in our society and it is impossible to prevent discussion of it. I knew what gay, oral, and anal was about the same time as 11. Better they learn what it all is and how to protect themselves from babies and STD's then let them stay ignorant until some boy or girl exposes them to sex and they have a baby, or an STD.
Inever said it was. I said it was adult material for adults. By supplying such materials to children is no less wrong than giving them pornograghy. The point being no one had the right to give such material to children especially without parental consent. Then to use the ever popular lame excuse oops we made a mistake?????? This should never be tolerated... Parents should decide when their child is ready for such materials parents should decide whats appropriate. Not some politician, or civil servant.
