OK - tell the Senate to get off their butts and start working towards a full budget. Right now, they are the hold up. Need a budget bill to pass a budget...

It is a gimmick like these millionaires are going to hurt if their pay is delayed, it is like money in the bank.

I have a slim hope that the {R}s will get the 100 billion to match the sequester cuts. I am not sure if it is 100 billion anymore I have been reading it is down to 85 billion now. Anyone know what the number is?

I think you might have wanted to read the article all the way through, this was at the end

The provision has run into complaints that it's not constitutional. Critics point to the 27th Amendment, which states: "No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened."
House Republican leadership, though, suggests plan would not violate the 27th Amendment because it would temporarily withhold pay, as opposed to reducing pay. Under the plan, members' pay would be put in escrow starting on April 15 for any chamber that hasn't passed a budget resolution.

Utter insanity.

And you dumb liberals must be so damn proud of not passing a budge in how many years now??!!?!?! And you have the gull to blame only the GOP for the mess we went into!
Actually, the GOP never had a balanced budget from 2000 to 2007 and even controlled the congress several years with a republican president.

BTW, the speaker lambasted this administration for kicking the can down the road, which is exactly what they are doing here.

They should all get a 1% cut in pay and benefits for every $100 billion annual deficit spending. That might persuade some of them to do their freaking jobs.

You realize the Republicans passed a No Budget/No Pay Bill along with this, right? 86 Dems voted for us too, but even more voted against it.

The Ryan budget never made it, we're not talking March of 2012 here, we're talking NOW.

Yeah, so what, the HOUSE is controlled by the GOP, and the SENATE is controlled by WHO?

This was in my link in the Original Post, I do skim through links when I post.

Quote:
Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., announced Wednesday that the Senate would indeed debate a budget this year but maintained the GOP's "no budget, no pay" move had nothing to do with the decision.
