Liberalism can not survive without conservatism and capitalism.
This is a good point, but a civilized society cannot survive without some concepts of liberalism.
The founding fathers recognized both of these observations and created a system where neither side can gain total control yet the friction between the sides provide the sparks that make our country great.
the most well-known civil rights pioneers of the 20th century were people like JFK, his brother Robert, MLK, etc. John Kennedy was the one who ordered desegregation of the schools in the south for example, in the face of violent southern conservative opposition.
Dont forget President Johnson. He played a big role but gets little recognition. He was for the poor and oppress.
The OP needs a history lesson, asap. Should we have a discussion about which party was the birthplace of the KKK?
The thought that crossed my mind as I was reading the OP's long list of things that conservitives are always wrong about (according to the OP) is that our founding was probabaly the greatest "conservative movement" in the history of man. Does the OP think the Founders were wrong about everything?
Liberalism ended slavery in this country.
Liberalism got women the right to vote.
Liberalism got African-Americans the right to vote.
Liberalism created Social Security and lifted millions of elderly people out of poverty.
Liberalism ended segregation.
Liberalism passed the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act.
Liberalism created Medicare.
Liberalism passed the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act. What did Conservatives do? They opposed them on every one of those things; every one.
It was the Republicans under Eisenhower who initiated civil rights interests. It was Lyndon Johnson who stopped that process, then later co-opted it.
First, Ike was a liberal president. The OP didn't say Republican vs Democrat, it was liberal s conservative.
Second, to say the Johnson stopped the process is revisionist history. If not for Johnson, the 1965 Civil Rights Act would not have been passed. That law went further, as it guaranteed fair housing, employment and no discrimination in public areas, such as restaurants.

Eisenhower was correct when he warned about the undue influence of the MIC, probably the last great piece of advice we had from the GOP.
