A Republican lawmaker in New Mexico introduced a bill on Wednesday that would legally require victims of rape to carry their pregnancies to term in order to use the fetus as evidence for a sexual assault trial. House Bill 206, introduced by state Rep. Cathrynn Brown (R), would charge a rape victim who ended her pregnancy with a third-degree felony for "tampering with evidence."
“Tampering with evidence shall include procuring or facilitating an abortion, or compelling or coercing another to obtain an abortion, of a fetus that is the result of criminal sexual penetration or incest with the intent to destroy evidence of the crime," the bill says.
Here's a link to the actual bill before people freak out over "FOMG HUFFPO THIS CAN'T BE TRUE CAUSE OF BIASED LINKSSSSSSSS":
The latest tactic, from what I gathered last night on another thread, is going for the "women are being forced to have abortions" and a slew of new rules and regs will be introduced to "protect" them. I mean, if we can shut down clinics because of doorway widths and whatnot then it's not a stretch to turn every women into a victim who needs protecting...from herself.
That's a pretty dumb lawmaker. The first workaround I can think of that makes her "concern" about evidence moot is that investigators could procure fetal tissue from the products of conception at the time of the abortion. The DNA would be the same as if the fetus were carried to term.
The pro-abortion people will claim that this woman lawmaker "hates women".
She "hates abortion and the woman who have them" yes. It's pretty obvious. Not to you? REALLY?
