Communism is a dirty word in America, yet many of the principles being advocated by more and more Americans are communist at core. You can call it progressive, liberal, leftist, whatever but whatever you call it the principles are the same. More and more people are jumping on the bandwagon of supporting the sacrifice of individual rights for the collective good. It's happening slowly but surely in America unlike the swift Bolshiviek revolution in Russia. The question is, if this ideology has failed in every other nation it's been tried in, why should it work in America? How are we different than Russia, China, Cuba, North Korea, etc? What will America do differently than those other nations once the far left gets their way to avoid a similar fate?
If you see or think the USA is starting to resemble the USSR, then you're just wrong.

Could you give 1 example of a "principle" that you do you feel is "Communist" AND American "progressive, liberal, leftist?"

All above of the US have universal health care, bigger governments size for size, and higher overall tax rates.
In fact the only reason the US makes it to 12th is because of income deriving from our natural resources. Most of the other nations above us use brain power.
None of those are communist countries.
Instead you should compare the US to North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and China.
When it fails it won't be the fault of communism. It will be blamed on some other factor, probably Bush, and the progs and idiots will just say well "this time" we'll do it right and it will work. There have been a lot of "this time" tried and they have all failed. Millions die but "this time" it will work right. So goes the minds of people who can't look at history.

Dictatorship, corruption, disproportional investment in military and police (they are always on alert of revolts) antagonism, social polarization and inside hostility (besides a long list of restrictions) contributed to their downfall.

Governments of such societies are required to use brute force to maintain order. Productivity is nearly non-existent. The country eventually fails. Could be a revolt, could be economic.
OP lives in a black and white world where anyone who doesn't agree with Rush Limbaugh is a communist.
Alert: every country in the world is to the left of Republicans and US allies like Canada, UK, Japan, Germany, Australia... aren't communist, or even trending that way.

You know, your post began spot on. As used by the extreme right, it is nothing but a dirty word. The rest of your post indicated that you have little to no clue what communism is. Therefore, try "liberals suck" instead. It won't make you appear any more educated, but at least you'll be acting true to yourself and honest with the rest of us.
Communism no dought is bad. To go too liberal would result in this. People should not fear the goverment.
But I feel that there's a happy medium. As padcrasher pointed out countries with "bigger goverment" such as Sweden and Norway do have a high standard of living. Plus in Sweden there are a lot of enterpreneurs such as H&M, Ikea, Saab, Volva etc. Their obviously doing something right. This is why I wish that liberals and conservatives would get their heads together and work out something that can work for both sides and the betterment of America. Both liberals and convervatives need to keep each other in check.
