Myself? I think we should tell China it's time to renegotate our debt if they want to keep doing business with us.

We Are in Danger! ... but Not from the Debt
The danger is from the Great Recession that has cost America 10 million jobs. The debt frenzy is making that worse. Take a look (in the graph) at how the debt skyrocketed during World War II. That's how we ended 12 years of Great Depression. This time it's tougher because Reagan and the Bushes ran the debt much higher in good times than it was at the start of WW II. But as Reagan understood, cutting government spending in a recession only makes it worse. Yes, we must pay down the debt, as Clinton was doing, but not while 17 million are out of work
Exactly. I was a young man when Reagan took office (18 years old). I remember what it was like. We waited in line for gas, we paid 12%+ for mortgage interest if you could get a mortgage. Our local gas utility couldn't even borrow money to expand so if you built a new house in our town you had to get on a waiting list for a gas meter and use LP gas in the meantime.

Carter was fixing the economy without debt. It was hard but it was the RIGHT way. It was starting to turn for the better when Reagan won the election. The thing is, the rich people were getting paid 18-20% return on their investments, and they were safe investments. Bonds and annuities were paying huge dough to them.

The only people and corporations getting loans were rock solid with good business plans and could afford those interest rates. It wasn't easy but we were paying the piper for the very expensive Vietnam war.

Then Reagan came in and completely blew up the plan. He turned Washington into a Casino, everything on the credit card. My brother is a PHD in Physics and was working with the pentagon at the time. He said it was absolutely ridiculous. After years of watching their pennies and being rewarded for gaining the most for the least the people who could figure out how to spend the billions that were thrown at them were promoted and the ones who spoke out about the waste were fired or demoted.

He saw it with his own eyes. Reagan's presidency was a start to a huge ponzie scheme and we are paying the piper now and it will be much harder than it was back in 1980.

Paul Ryan is not President. Of course you'd deflect from the facts and rely on the article itself for your talking points. I sourced the article to show the White House Report, which I also linked. But of course you didn't read it because it doesn't support your liberal ignorance.

Barack Obama's legacy will be that of $20+ Trillion in National Debt. There's no two ways about it. You lose. I'd suggest you educate yourself instead of making a buffoon out of yourself.

Just look at the facts man and think. Bush started 2 wars and gave huge tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy. He essentially tripled our expenses and halved our income.

How would that work in your house if you tried that?

Consider the source.

Congress did their job and passed not one, but three budgets. Clinton vetoed all three budgets passed by Congress. Had Congress not passed a budget, then you could rightfully blame them, but they did. Clinton shut down government in 1995 with his vetoes, just like Reagan shut down government in 1984 with his vetoes. You liberal hypocrites cannot have it both ways.

Unless I'm looking at a different site than you are it doens't list any specific bills. It just has some crude bar graph with a lable listed "Bills passed by congress." Congress consisting of a Democratic controlled senate now and a Democratic controlled house up until 2007.

I'm not saying that the GOP doesn't share blame....but homeboy Harry Reid does too.
