No, Shay's Rebellion proved that when farmers don't see a profit for 31 years, they get filled with angst.
I'm guessing you aren't aware that one reason the farmers were angry, is that after 17 years of drought and recession and not seeing anything that even remotely looks like a profit -- while being taxed to death, the farmers all too gladly sold their crops to the Continental Congress on credit.
Then the Continental Congress defaulted and under the new government of the AOC, no one wanted to take responsibility for the debts and pay the farmers what they were justly owed.
Technically speaking, the Congress of the Articles would have legally inherited the debts of the Continental Congress, since it was the successor.

The US Government murdered President Schemarke in cold-blood so that Texaco, Amoco, Standard Oil and Conoco could get the oil contract. The puppet dictator the US installed -- Mohammed Barre -- fleeced everyone and after he fled Mohammed Adid took over.
I mention that because in order for the US to be
like Somalia, a similar chain of events would have to occur. But thanks for being over emotional.

I'm a federalist.
The only two structures suitable for the US are the federation and confederation. The unitary system that the Left is so desperately trying to force on people will fail and destroy the US for whatever it was.
There have been many changes, most of all in communications. Communications is not just telephones, it's canals, inter-coastal waterways, railroad lines, highways, the postal system and many other things. The communications system in the US is now very well developed and has been for some time, say about 80 years or so. The point being with such a well-developed communications system, a confederation would work much better now that it could have in the past.
Structurally...
