What annual quotas are you talking about?...

Understanding that neither method was an assurance of illegal or legal entry in our history...

Has anyone else noticed how right wingers are always wrong when it comes to predicting how policy changes will pan out? The streak will continue after immigration reform is passed.

What isn't going to pan out is jobs and better pay for the American people -- very likely you on the unlimited cheap labor side will win out -- you've been winniing on that. The American people are losing. But yes -- you want your servants unlimited in numbers and dirt cheap. Most likely Obama will win on that and the population and poverty of the USA will triple overnight -- screw the environment. Just bring the fast breeding types in. Unlimited numbers of them. Those who can't find jobs will just end up on food stamps and in government housing just likek they've been doing.

Once again, right wingers are terrible at making predictions. Watching the know-nothing wing of the GOP continue to push away people and shrink their tent is a great thing. It means the reality based community will continue win elections.

From the proposals I've read, none would qualify as amnesty.
Apparently, you don't realize the same "requirements" for the so-called path to citizenship under the new law, will mirror those of the previous amnesty; and, it was indeed considered an amnesty -- pay fines (installments), no criminal background (a joke), learn English (another joke). . .blah, blah, blah. Of course, enforcement of the new law will be as lax as the last.

There will be no punishment for the millions guilty of ID theft, fraud, and tax evasion. In fact, they will not be punished for any criminal offense. The rationale behind that generous gesture is they were forced to commit crimes to survive, and therefore should not be punished. Funny, that would never work as a defense for a citizen.

To add insult to injury, their victims will have no legal recourse. In other words, they can't sue for damages after having their identities stolen, credit ruined, and reputations destroyed. After all, we certainly can't expect to sue those absolved of guilt, can we? In addition, their employers will be given a pass for willfully violating our laws. All is forgiven. If that isn't amnesty (pardon, reprieve, forgiveness) for unlawful behavior, please tell me what is.

Expect a repeat of this procedure in another 10-15 years, when this country is again overrun by illegal aliens.

BTW, I understand the "fine" will be between $250 and $500, payable over a five-year period. Ouch! Talk about punishment. Heck, they send more than that back home monthly.

Then more anchor gang members will start terrorizing citizens and neighborhoods. This trend is already happening in the black community.

Also, more businesses will hire immigrants over Americans.

Ah yes, the 1986 amnesty was such a tremendous success. I'm sure this time will be equally successful. The result of the last amnesty was 12-20+ million illegal aliens. Perhaps next, we'll reach 60 million. I can hardly wait.

Shhh. . . You shouldn't mention that. It's supposed to be a secret.

I'm really going to look forward to the know-nothing wing of the GOP to start foaming at the mouth once the immigration reform bill or bills start getting closer to being passed and signed by Obama. I will be making popcorn and enjoying the gnashing of teeth and impotent rage.
But do you think we should let anyone who wants to come here come here?

If that were the case the USA would have 4,000,000,000 people.

The only fail here is your logic and knowledge of history.
Numbers:
1) How many immigrants entered (the nation of immigrants) between 1924-1965?

2) How many from 1965 till now?
