What is wrong with you? Seriously? It was a training exercise, and not the first one conducted here.
from my link:
The training is designed to ensure that military personnel are able to operate in urban areas and to focus on preparations for overseas deployment. It also serves as a mandatory training certification requirement. A similar operation took place in April 2011 in Miami’s Brickell area, which frightened many residents in the area. This time, the training operations were held away from residential areas.
Paranoid, party of, well, several.
Limpblubber, NRA and Beckless have proven there is a lot of money in paranoia.
Metrorail was closed, bro. You think they'd run an elevated train system in a miltary training exercise...bro?
That isn't what I was saying, Captain "tell me anything, and I'll believe it". Why in the hell would they ever need training to repel into the metrorail station? What event could they ever foresee that would justify the US military to conduct such a mission on US soil?
The fact that you don't find that disturbing is...well, disturbing.
Yeah, I'm just going to point and laugh. Saves the keystrokes.
What a bunch of nervous nellies these RWers are.
I'm not a right winger and I've never given any indication that I am. I just find it unacceptable for the military to be conducting this type of training in civilian areas, much less, our major cities.
You've got to be a special kind of moron to think that sort of thing is normal.

Like the public will be informed that Blackhawk helicopters will be swooping down on their city shooting blanks ?
Not typical that military exercises like that happen in major US cities.
But I guess that is the "new norm" and you shouldn't think a thing of it if you see military training exercises going on in your city.
There's a fine line on what the military can do on US shores and we're getting mightly close to it.
Americans and their cellphones and youtube. That is how truth gets out.
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Some members of the U.S. military were busy in Miami Thursday night as they conducted exercises in Downtown Miami.
CBS4 captured video of Black Hawk helicopters flying over the city as part of a joint military training exercise.
Thursday night’s training took place near the Stephen P. Clark Center in Miami and a nearby Metrorail station where troops could be seen rappelling from the military choppers onto the Metrorail station platform.
The clip you provided was not a notification, it was an after-the-fact explanation. Did they warn people of this?
I seem to remember something like this happening in NYC where Air Force One buzzed the city for a photo shoot. The city was not notified about it beforehand and it terrified a lot of people.

I kinda have to agree. To much can go wrong. Oh, I'm sure it was cool to see. My job allows me to see zuch stuff all the time, and participate, occasionally. But smack dab in tbe middle of a major city leaves a LOT to chance. At any rate, I don't live there. So I'm safely out of the way.
