Articles: Drunk and Defenseless

Give this some thought. It makes a lot of sense.

It doesn't.

No problem. All we have to do is ban large containers of alcohol.

Alcoholics kill themselves. Anyone proposing we ban guns to eliminate suicide by gunowners?

I think the article points out thousands of people killed by drunk drivers.

Drunk driving is already illegal, yet criminals still do it, so why bother banning drunk driving.

Of course, no one is actually calling for a 'ban' on all types of guns. You may have one or two nutters who suggest that, but it will never happen.

I will note that there are some types of alcohol that are banned here in the US, including Absinthe.

So, some types of alcohol are banned, but there are plenty of other choices if you wish to indulge.

I think it's the selective and inconsistent use of punishment that allows drunk driving and mass murders to continue.

If we ever got serious and consistent about punishment for these crimes - they would decrease dramatically.

Mass murderers usually kill themselves.
