Big storm, it is call Police Power, it is for the good of the region to do so. Because of that we were able to reduce damages and were able to shut down the subway lines to reduce damages and potentially unneeded deaths.

Martial law is the military, not the police. I honestly don't see how martial law is at all necessary even during major natural disasters. A state of emergency, yes.

Police Power legal definition of Police Power. Police Power synonyms by the Free Online Law Dictionary.
"The authority conferred upon the states by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and which the states delegate to their political subdivisions to enact measures to preserve and protect the safety, health, Welfare, and morals of the community."

Martial Law was actually only declared in some towns in Jersey after Sandy because of the extent of damage and possible gas leaks that put entire towns in danger.

So during the war you guys are all about supporting the troops, when it comes to Defense spending you guys say we need to spend more not less, but the moment the troops come home you begin to fear they are coming for you next?
