Escort killer acquitted by Texas jury
Is this normal?
This is another one of those cases where another side can't tell their story cuz she's dead. How do they know that she really stole the money? Maybe he paid her for a massage or whatever, and she didn't wan have sex so he shot her. Even if she stole, you don't get death penalty for that. Is human life really worth $150?

Duplicate thread.

I was very surprised at the verdict, but the issue came down to her stealing money after dark. There was no dispute that she stole the money either, so you can quit with all the "what if's".

The judicial system really can't take the validity of these laws into account when in a legal proceeding. That's a job for the legislature.

As per the technicalities of the law, however ridiculous or not, he couldn't be found guilty.

Article says he shot her because she stole from him, not because she wouldn't sleep with him.
That's what the jury ruled on..theft, not refusal of sexual pleasure.

Yeah..I guess the wording of the law saved his *ss.
I don't think this law should have been used to protect him.

His life was not in danger. Sure there was theft, but it didn't threaten his life.

I think the law needs to be changed ..theft when your life is threatened.
