I've discussed this already so many times, I'm beginning to repeat it in my sleep, I swear. Yes, the Supremes decided to pretend the Second Amendment was about INDIVIDUALS and not the militia. Yes, the Supremes decided to pretend the Second Amendment was NOT about militias at all. Yes, the Supremes ignored what the framers of the Constitution said in the Militia Amendment. I already know this. I've already discussed this. I'm having to repeat this all over again. (groan)
HOWEVER, The Supremes do pretty much any damned thing they want. They've made horrible decisions, and they've made good decisions. They act upon what each individual justice believes. I even gave the example of Justice Scalia, an a-h who is right wing to the core, and how ALL of Scalia's (or at least nearly all) his decisions have come down to voting politically, EVEN THOUGH he is a Justice of the Supremes and he should know better, but he DOESN'T CARE. The Supremes is a group of 8 people who do whatever the hell they want. The Supreme Court, in the past, has had to reverse itself. How do the Supremes reverse themselves? Easy - by deciding DIFFERENTLY on a new case that comes before them, deciding in a way that completely contradicts the initial decision on a case that came before them prior to them reversing themselves. This has been done many times.
However, the next time a gun control case comes before them, IF they vote against individual gun rights, you'll be (once again) stuck ONLY with the MILITIA AMENDMENT, which is about militias, and says not one thing about individual gun "rights," and you'll be left whining that the word MILITIA isn't even in the Second Amendment at all, and that the framers weren't *really* talking about militias.
You probably wouldn't have to repeat yourself if you would stop spreading propaganda. Unfortunately, the only way that propaganda will work is if you keep repeating it over and over, kind of like a mantra. I'm not saying your attempt at propaganda will work if you keep repeating it, since even propaganda requires at least a kernel of truth in the mix, but keep on trying. Maybe you'll get lucky
Of course I get it. You live like a cop, like a security guard, like a prison guard. You don't let your guard down one second.
Not in the slightest. I don't live constantly on guard, and I don't live in fear. There are days when I carry, such as when I'm going to be in areas where I feel that the risk of crime is higher, and there are days when I don't carry, such as when I'm going to the grocery store. Carrying a weapon never has and never will be a full-time thing for me. I know that doesn't fit your view of the "paranoid gun fondler", but that's what you get for stereotyping. Your ignorance on this subject leads you to believe that the only people who own firearms are rabid right-wing radicals who are intent on going out and starting a gun fight. In truth, I've yet to meet a firearms owner who meets that description, and if I were to meet someone like that I'd get away from them as fast as I could.
I am a woman who has actually thought about getting a gun for self protection. We live in a neighborhood that recently took a turn for the dicey. Fortunayely we are relocating this week. I really did think about it, because sometimes my husband's business requires that he be gone for extended periods of time. My son is away at college and that leaves my teenage daughter and me all alone.
The reason I did nit buy one was simple. My size and my fear that a large man could over power me and use the gun against us.
The one I looked was a personal defense shot gun, and it was supposed to be easy to use. I found it large and heavy. I had a feeling that when it came down to it, I'd become nervous and forget how to use it.

What propaganda? The Supremes vote as they damned well feel like it. That's why they're the Supremes. Or do you think they have an authority that reviews their decisions?
And what's propaganda about the Militia Amendment being about the Militia? Did I put the subject of the Amendment in there? No. The framers did that, not me.
So take your propaganda accusation and stick it where it feels best to you.

You'd better make up your mind. Either you're in constant danger in your job, which is the reason you feel you need a gun and you're on guard all the time, or you lied.

Neither of the above. I carry depending on the situation that I am going to be in. Why must it be either constant danger or no danger? The world is not black and white, and neither are the situations that will arise while inhabiting the world.
Seriously? She rambled on telling a story about a woman defending her home with a gun, and when was asked about the kind of gun she used. She "didn't remember". Duh..convenient considering that the gun used was in no danger of being banned.
More likely violent attackers, rapists, muggers, home invaders, and the like.
The statistics prove you wrong, it is almost a 20 to 1 ratio in favor of family members vs. strangers.
