I was utterly shocked to learn, about 6 months ago, he is a Republican. I don't dislike him, I rather like him,as a commentator, but most of his views certainly do not fit with what I think of when I think Republican, even moderate Republican. It should be interesting.

He's called himself a Republican several times on his radio show. He isn't staunch GOPer either. He actually makes a number of valid points on issues in current affairs whether it's about the 2nd Amendment, tax increases or the deficit.

I'm not in NJ, but I think he has the potential to win over a crowd...he has the public speaking experience. Plus he's pretty well connected in the world of jouranlism. His only real challenge would be Corey Booker if Booker decides to actually run.
