Choicer lobbyists like NARAL have been opponents of fetal homicide laws. They fear the impact they might have on viewing a fetus of any age as a life worthy of distinct legal protection.

If killing the fetus was classified as theft or burglary or vandalism, or some other crime against property, maybe the laws would be more acceptable.

So the next time you need to have your appendix removed it would be theft?

Laura Smith, a 22-year-old from Honduras, died in September after getting an abortion from Rapin Osathanondh at the Women’s Health Center abortion business. According to a blog post by pro-life advocate Jill Stanek, Eileen Smith, Laura’s mother, indicated the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine revoked Osathanondh’s license. Smith indicated officials told her they did so "because they view him as a risk to public safety."
Why are you so surprised when medical doctors lose their license due to malpractice? Medical malpractice is commonplace in the U.S. In fact, the stats show that between 44,000 to 98,000 Americans die EVERY YEAR due to medical errors. And yet you're focusing on only ONE case and write about it over and over and over?

Medical Malpractice has become a huge problem throughout U.S hospitals. According to an article from theJournal of the American Medical AssociationJuly 26,2000, “44,000 and perhaps as many as 98,000 hospitalized Americans die every year from medical errors.” These numbers are astonishing, but do not account for the number of people who die outside of hospitals due to medical errors. Many researchers feel that as many as 180,000 people could die each year in the U.S. due to medical malpractice. According to a recent study from the National Academy of Medicine, each year more people die from medical errors than from motor vehicle accidents (43,458), breast cancer ( 42,297), or AIDS (16, 516). The number of deaths caused by malpractice also exceeds the number of deaths in the U.S. caused by accidental falls, drowning, and aviation accidents combined. The scary reality is that malpractice has become one of the top 10 leading causes of death in the United States. It appears that all of the advancements in medical technology made to increase an individual’s chances for survival is in no way able to make up for the number of lives lost due to medical malpractice.
MALPRACTICE. The Statistics…A Shocking Reality

The federal government and many states have seen fit to adopt fetal Homicide laws. To the best of my knowledge, homicide applies only to the killing of a person, human being, living homosapien type thing.

That's what put choice groups like NARAL in a bind. They found it hard to oppose those laws, but worried that placing a fetus in the same category as a person moves the fetus slightly closer to having a separate existence from the female host and rights of its own.

Why not call those laws something like vandalizing a woman's property. After all, for the pre-viability stage at least, the fetus is her property.

Salon Attacks Pro-Lifers for Caring for Women Who Died in Abortion | LifeNews.com

Salon Attacks Pro-Lifers for Caring for Woman Who Died in Abortion

Reaching a new low in journalism, a writer in Salon has compared pro-lifers holding a candlelight vigil for a woman who died in a late-term abortion to the Westboro Baptist Church’s protests of military funerals.

The Westboro Bapist Church holds loud, angry protests outside funerals of soldiers with obscene signs, saying that the soldiers deserved to die. Writer Steven Hsieh apparently sees no difference between that and the quiet, prayerful vigil held to mourn a woman and child who lost their lives in a brutal, unnecessary fashion.

The Salon article shows not the slightest bit of concern that a woman died. The author does not deign even to mention her by name. But she had a name. Jennifer Morbelli. She was 29. Her death matters. At least to pro-lifers. To Hsieh, it seems, her death is less important than the fact that pro-lifers might use it to criticize abortion. The pro-choice cause, then, is placed above the lives of Morbelli and her child.

Abortion stops a learning brain, and no child should die alone.

Pro-choice activists have a long pattern of ignoring the victims of botched abortions. When Suzanne Logan lay paralyzed in a hospital room after her abortion, it was local pro-life groups who raised money to get her a device that would enable her to communicate with her loved ones.

When Dr. Bruce Steir got into legal trouble for stuffing Sharon Hampton’s bowel back into her body after lacerating it in an abortion, sending her home to bleed to death in a car, pro-choicers rallied to his defense with no concern for the victim.

Pro-lifers frequently hold vigils for women who died from legal abortions, support their families, try to bring renegade abortionists to justice, and push legislation to make abortion safer. It is pro-life activists who file malpractice claims trying to get compensation for women who are injured. Instead of asking why pro-life activists are memorializing and honoring Morbelli, Hsieh should be asking why pro-choicers are ignoring her.

Default Group Wants License Yanked of Doc Who Killed Women in 33-Week Abortion

Group Wants License Yanked of Doc Who Killed Woman in 33-Week Abortion | LifeNews.com

Operation Rescue has filed a formal complaint with the Maryland Board of Physicians against the medical license of late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart in the death of Jennifer Morbelli, a 29-year old kindergarten teacher who died from complications to a 33-week abortion he allegedly performed on her and her unborn baby.
In an email to LifeNews, the pro-life group said it is asking for an immediate emergency suspension of his Maryland Medical License until his disciplinary case can be fully adjudicated and his license permanently revoked.
“The complaint provides a detailed timeline of events surrounding Carhart’s patient’s abortion at Germantown Reproductive Health Services, which began on February 3, 2013, through her death on February 7 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland, based on eye witness reports from several sources,” the pro-life organization told LifeNews. “The complaint documents 13 violations of the Maryland Medical Practice Act and one violation of a criminal statute related to Second Degree Murder.

Yawn. The same case over and over. As if 195,000 people didn't die per year due to medical mistakes, and she keeps on showing the same one medical mistake case over and over.

Of course, this is about a woman who died when this abortionist ignored her. We will see what happens to him and the other ones who should be seeing malpractice cases filed against them.

Some would rather sweep this all under the rug. Would other doctors who are charged with malpractice get the same pass from them?
