As this article shows the Republican standard bearer state of Texas keeps sucking in more federal money while denying its citizens basic government services but continues to hand out big corporate tax breaks.

Its the tea party/republican principle in action: show the feds the finger with one hand, and take federal handouts with the other.

A six month old article from a newspaper in the most progressive liberal city in Texas, now who woulda thunk?

Too bad the article doesn't give statistics as to how much money the state of Texas has to spend on illegal aliens...

The state spends at least $250,000,000.00 in state prison and health care costs on illegal aliens and another $100,000,000.00 on HB 1403 students (just for starters).

Ya just can't beat that 'ol progressive liberal spin...

But doesn't Texas have strong border security? What does this have to do with cutting state services and education funding for its legal residents?

Texas would have strong border security over it's 1,254 mile length if the government would step out of the picture...

What does "it" have to do with cutting state services and education funding for its legal residents?

Simple, money has to be diverted from legal Texas citizens to illegal aliens because of the U.S. government...

But the federal gov is kicking out illegals at record levels for past 4 years.

So you are saying Texas would rather spend its money on illegals instead of legals?

The trick is to stop them before they ever step foot inside the country. Yes, that costs money and requires more than lip service, but it's much cheaper in the long run.

Yup, the increase in deportation has a direct correlation to the numbers of illegal aliens crossing the border into America....

I highly suggest you come up to speed when it comes to Texas and illegal aliens, for example, Texas is FORCED to educate the children of illegal aliens....

OK but for past couple of years its been giving massive corporate tax breaks ...so the state clearly has the money, but then is cutting education funding and state services.

True more people are being kicked out and leaving on there own, but the amount of illegals here has increased while border apprehension has decreased.
