Actually, the President said, "President Barack Obama said there is “no doubt” the government needs new revenue from closing tax “loopholes” and limiting deductions, along with enacting spending cuts, to reduce the federal deficit."

That's from your own link.

Closing loopholes and limiting deductions was what the Republicans said but when Obama says it, you are up in arms.

Another false outrage thread.

We are 16 trillion and counting in debt. To address that some of it will have to be increased revenue's. I'm O.K. with that as long as there are cuts to go along with it.

Then you agree with the President:

“There is no doubt we need additional revenue, coupled with smart spending reductions in order to bring down our deficit,” he said. “I don’t think the issue right now is raising rates.”

No, as he never takes the cuts part seriously. I agree that to address our debts some of it will have to be revenue. Revenue that is then not simply spent on new programs.

The same arguments over and over. Here are the problems.

1. We spend to much

2. Americans don't support changes to social security or medicare.

3. Certain Washington leaders don't support defense cuts.

So you either earn more, or you spend less.

Since those big three things are most of the budget, and no one is willing to realistically cut things, we have to raise revenue.

Its math

Without the cuts, revenue alone never gets passed. Indeed those who say that there needs to be cuts are undercutting their arguments by refusing to cut everything.
