While the economy is not the disaster that we had in 2008, as it is improving, it is not strong. There are more gradations than intensive care in the hospital and running the marathon.
At least you admit after 4 years of Obama being in charge the economy is weak
Just watch some left loon will blame Bush or claim Obama has nothing to do with it
Those who do that will have to admit that they don't know anything about the OP link and I have just posted a bit of it and here is some more that most haven't seen. That would be the beginning paragraph earlier and the last 2 paragraphs here.
Have you walked through the mall in your area recently? How many small or large stores did you see that were closed and empty? Drive through parts of town and look at how many stores in the smaller strip malls have been vacated.
I don’t see these things as being signs of a recovering economy, but signs of an economy that is still struggling and falling. The Obama administration may try to cover the truth with smoke and mirrors, but in the end, the empty buildings and unemployed Americans will tell a much different story than what we are being led to believe.
Come look...the motorcycle dealership/repair place and a farm supply store are going out of business here...sure there are more I will keep an eye out.
Do these stores by any chance employ people to work in them? Will there be a high number of unemployed people when they all get closed? Even more important, something that you could have learned about it you had read the link, how many people who transport, make etc things those stores sell will be out of jobs once the stores are closed?
I see a real attempt to protect the Obama administration with your deflections. Nice job, I guess.
How is this different than it ever was?
How long since Woolworths' has been gone?
Back east where I grew up, we had Korvette's, Abraham & Straus, Lamston's, The Wiz - just to mention a few - all gone now.
All closed long before Mr. Obama was elected to the senate, let alone the presidency.
This is natural cycle in business. Adapt or die.
I would think that a free-market conservative like yourself would appreciate this as proof that capitalism works like it's supposed to.
It's apparent that some here do not realize the face of retailing has been evolving for the past decade and has nothing to do with whomever is sitting the oval office.
It's all about the internet and the biigest box retailers.
I know 2 businesses here have closed thanks to communist care aka obamacare...it was already hard to find work and its even worse now.
That's odd because the ACA doesn't kick in until 2014. Moreover, if those businesses have fewer than 50 employees they are exempt.
I can only conclude that this blame is misdirected.
