In the world of "winning" at any cost, it seems that Gerry Mandering is being used. . .
The people on this board argue about the "marxist" leader, or republicans and anti-this or that. . .but it seems like we are basically allowing democracy to be co-opted. The vote to be stolen. Your representative appointed by the "party leader" and not the people.
Now this is what I point to and say the future is bleak. . .and getting bleaker.
We should redistrict along the county lines and leave them alone. Good grief, how is one supposed to compare voting trends over a period of time when the lines are constantly being redrawn? And aren't these the same people that complain how the lines of success and failure in life are being redrawn all the time? Yet they are doing the exact same thing they complain about. But it's okay because it's in their own interests. Hypocrites!
It's a serious problem which both parties have abused. We should have national rules against gerrymandering like the ones California recently adopted. They use a mathematical model to make districts as compact as possible (no more long snaking districts where politicians pick their voters instead of voters picking the politician), where ever possible one geographic area has to be in the same district (so a whole town instead of half of a town, use geographic boundaries like rivers or mountain tops), and most importantly demographics or political affiliation may not be used in any way and attempting to do so is a criminal offense.

Yup, never used before in the history of the US... until now.
Gerrymandering use and frequency since the supreme court (with no incentive to preserve democracy I would guess) upheld the crooked Texas plan in 2006.
the most gerrymander district in the country is in NYC.
Nadler's seat
Don't be absurd. Nadler's district is NY-10, shown below. It's not even the most gerrymandered district in New York (for that matter, it's not even the second or third -- NY-07, NY-08, NY-10 and NY-14 are all obviously more so).
It certainly isn't gerrymandering, since both parties do that. So what is it?
Yeah, it's gerrymandering. Just look at the 2012 House elections (you know, what the article was about). I could also go into Florida 2000, Katherine Harris, etc.
