Yes, it is hilarious to see how conservatives don't care about policy. This man suggested a right from birth for money to be given to EVERY poor citizen by the government for health care and they don't see that as a huge expansion of government.

Lol if conservatives think that Democrats would oppose this plan, please bring up for a vote.

conservatives don't care about policy. They don't care about big government. conservatives are liars.

They just care about being anti-Obama. They don't support ideas anymore because Obama also supports some of their old ideas. It's childish, but that's what the GOP has become. A childish, petty group of people.

Exactly, they are so cynical and simple minded. They think just because Dr. Carson is black and said something about taxing billionaires and supports another idea to fix health care that is different from the President's idea that his speech was this anti-Obama screed.

They should go ask Dr. Carson does he perceive his speech to be anti-Obama.

My reaction to the speech was not because it was anti-Obama. It wasn't about dissing "your guy". It's not that personal.

I haven't thought through the merit (or lack of merit) with the speakers' health care idea. My point and my internal and organic reaction to watching the video was that this was a decent man, a smart man who had a sense of humor and a common sense approach to life and some of the problems facing this country. His speech wasn't partisan or divisive or mean spirited or apologetic.

A president is tasked with the job of finding solutions to problems and representing everyone in the country regardless of politics. He is also tasked with uplifting and reassuring the people - calming when there are fears, encouraging patience when patience is short, reminding of the goodness and decency of the citizenry. Being a leader. Obama doesn't do that, and some of the comments below the video made it very obvious that people are hungry for that.

I need that. A lot of people need that. There is fear and anger and distrust floating in the air in this country, it cannot be ignored and yet it is being ignored.

You're looking for conservatives to be logically consistent, now? Good luck with that.

The whole point of the reaction to that speech is because conservatives see it as a rebuke by another black man of President Obama.

You all are cheering a huge expansion of government now that's common sense, to establish a right from birth that the federal government should send checks for healthcare for EVERY poor American is now proof of common sense to conservatives. LOL, but Obamacare is socialism LOL.

Oh I haven't checked the merits of his speech. Then why are you praising it? Lol conservatives make no sense.

Seems to be a very wise man, something that is very rare in Washington these days on both sides of the isle. Those who seek to disparage only the left or the right are the ones who have the agenda.

Carson better watch his back. Especially since he lives in Baltimore.
