This is so Jesus would have a place to lay his head. Knowing the person you helped knows the Saviour also.

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
This is Jesus using a parable, Jesus is the thirst and the hunger the poor need. He is the stranger no one has told the poor about. A prison is not necessarily a jail cell. This could be a rich person whos not able to see past his riches.

Quote:
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Yes, each time a person does this they are to be giving the word of God, not about material giving.

Jesus spoke of people knowing Him, if Evangelicals and the left want to help the poor are they also going to make sure all those people are baptized in the name of Jesus?? Feeding wasn't the only reward or the only thing you are to do. If Evangelicals bring in the poor just because they have a poor bank account, they better be prepared to prepare their souls or God won't be happy.

I thought we were not supposed to be influenced by religious leaders. Guess if they are pushing amnesty it is ok.

If you are trying to say Jesus said to only help other believers, you are wrong. He said to love even those who hate you. On the other hand, would you help an immigrant if they were believers? Many of them are.

You thought so? Don't let people tell you who you should be influenced by. It is up to you who you want to listen.

Do you show compassion to the murder, did you pray for those recent shooters or just the victims?

Have you prayed for Bernie Maddoff or just the people he ripped off?
It's back to church for you. So that you can refresh your memory.

What about economic justice for the millions of legal working class workers who'se wages have been undercut and rents have been inflated by illegal immigration?
