These people (as well as many others) seem to be on a quest seeking a father, boyfriend or a god. What they lacked in their upbringing and how they learned to deal with it realistically in life may well be why they seem to be searching for that which they never had.
Sad thing is, they want the rest of us to 'accept' their version of a father, boyfriend, god figure.
