New 3-D Printed Rifle Magazine Lets You Fire Hundreds of Rounds

Quote:
In response to the upsurge in gun violence, politicians are proposing restrictions on the number of bullets that handgun and rifle magazines can hold. And just as they do, new printing technology blows holes right through that debate. The 3-D printing gunsmiths at Defense Distributed are about to release blueprints for an upgraded magazine that won’t degrade even after you fire hundreds of rounds.

As soon as you fire just one round through that thing, assuming it even has enough power to strike the primer with sufficient force, the entire gun will explode. Does anyone really think that a plastic firearm can withstand 14,000 psi?

Not in Alaska, or seven other States with similar laws. The Firearms Freedom Act of 2010 allows Alaskans to manufacture their own firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition for use wholly within Alaska without regard to federal laws or regulations.

The federal government can only regulate firearms as it pertains to their power to regulate international and interstate commerce. Firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition manufactured within the State, for use or sale only in that State, does not effect international or interstate commerce, and therefore are not subject to federal laws or regulations.
