Because when I see a 20 yr old kid in 7-11 buying an armload of candybars and a $6 gallon of milk, EBT card in hand, I don't get that warm fuzzy feeling Nancy Pelosi and the rest of you do.
Explain how that or some guy offering to pay for my groceries for 50% cash is good for the economy.

It helps those in the farming and food service industries. My business benefits from people buying food.

As far as your underlying agenda, food stamp spending has increased because of the state of the economy. I can fault Obama for many things, but I can't fault him totally for the economy. Bush started a trillion dollar war that sent us into massive debt.

Easy. Those who received food stamps, welfare, or unemployment are putting literally all of that money back into the economy. It's one of the best economic stimulus you can have.

Yes, I know who bush is and what he did, thanks.I don't like him much either. He not the subject in this thread though, as far as addressing your underlying agenda.

So its better for the economy if I make less $ and go on food stamps?

If the end result is you putting more money back into the economy, then yes.

Even if I buy some guy's groceries for cash, paying with my EBT card?
WIN WIN situation!
Why don't they just bring dump trucks full of EBT cards to every town and throw them in the air like confetti?
That would be a swell idea, we'd be fixed in no time!
Plus food for all!

Of course. The money is still going back into the economy. What part of that concept is hard for you to understand?

Your attempt at absurdity aside, that's actually somewhat how it works.

The other "good news" for Morgan is that the increase in volume of food stamp recipients the bank manages, means an increasing share of the billions of dollars being spent by recipients.

Additionally, Paton said retailers such as Walmart and Costco saw increasing portions of their businesses supplied by customers shopping with EBT food stamp cards:

"It's an increasingly large part of Walmart's transaction flow. Walmart, Kroger, an even bigger part of the business for smaller merchants."
