This is the only shooter I want to watch right now. He's got a dead eye and long range. FSU offered him a scholarship and lifetime supply of rubber balls on the side. We've got him locked up in 2032. Don't report the extra benes to the ncaa please...

Ok, Katrina was a state of emergency so why you're comparing that to ordinary legislation is a mystery. *sigh* I once again have to repeat what I've already said as I have before; LOTS OF BILLS ARE PROPOSED BY LOTS OF PEOPLE! This doesn't mean any of them will pass and in some cases even can pass.

Now if anything I have said has confused you still further, don't even bother responding because I am done repeating myself.

Ok, never said I was a hardcore Christian so you get no argument from me there.

This isn't about your porno dreams!

This is precisely why you "gun nuts" give us responsible gun owners and sports shooters a bad name and make the issues more difficult.
That's true for all extremist.

Because this wasn't a Christian discussion, I saw no reason to go further with it but thanks for that.

No, they shouldn't, and they shouldn't ride Harley Davidson's either, but people do dumb things all the time.

A lot of people can't afford the best and safest areas. I live in the best area I can afford but it still has crime.

Best is subjective, what is best for one person may not be best for another, safest is a bit different, you can chose a safe place, apparently you haven't, and you are trying to tell us the great cosmic force, makes you live in an unsafe place. Not true.

Someone is currently on trial right now in San Mateo county for a home invasion then murder in Belmont Ca (where the houses cost between 700k and well over 1 million). Just because you pay a lot means does notean your safe.

You are creating your own argument, that is the "strawman fallacy" you create an argument and argue against it. What is good about that, is that you get to win it. nNever mind the fact that I have never addressed particular locations.

Ar15 riffles have been used in self defense, a good example is during the Korean shop owners during the Rodney King riots.

Korean store owners defend their business during the 1992 LA riots. - YouTube
Here is a video where a teen used his dads ar15 for self defense

Boy Uses Dad's AR-15 to Shoot Invader - YouTube

And people ride Harley Davidson's never mind that they are slow, heavy and have a tendency to go straight instead of turning around corners. I can replace my tool kit of socket wrenches with a pair of vice grips, but that doesn't mean vice grips are the best tool for the job.

It is fine that you don't want to have a semi automatic rifle, but don't stop me from having one.

Once again, You are making up an argument so you can win it, I already mentioned I own a semi automatic .22 my daddies, I also use the FBI favorite pistolo, which too, is a semi automatic. you are moving toward paranoia, nothing I have said would indicate that I want stop you from having a particular weapon, I would like to educate you so you don't make poor decisions.

And by the way, I don't live my life in fear, I just want to be able to protect myself and my family. Yes, you live in fear, you are a Conservative, a fearful mindset is why a Conservative is a conservative, as I mentioned, you and yours are not going to suffer a home invasion.... But, you are probably going to die early from poor lifestyle choices.

But I am sure you know this because you are an expert. #4 shot can still penetrate walls by the way, walls are only a couple sheets of dry wall.
No, you do not need 15-17 inches of penetration. You might want that much but there is a difference between needs and wants. The 15-17 inches of penetration is nothing but nonsense from those who seem to subscribe to Frackler's screwed up theories. Frackler found himself a niche and got a lot of people to believe he had something relevant to spout and the magazine writers swallowed hook, line and sinker. You ought to hear some of the garbage about penetration he put out at one of the largest multi-agency lethal force series discussion. Almost everyone laughed him out. The Guns and Ammo and mags like that eat it up though. They sell ads and ads sell ammo.

As for the FBI recommending anything, they also recommended 1000 ft/lbs of energy and 1000 ft per/sec of velocity for police snipers (politically correct version is marksman). And? Nonsense.

Penetration is affected more by projectile design than velocity. You can fire a sewing needle and get a great depth of penetration and not accomplish what you intend.

Those that say frangible ammunition doesn't work know very little about what does or doesn't work or why.

As for Shooting Times and the likes of Ayoob and the gun rag writers, do yourself a favor, they sell magazines and almost every one of them have been so thoroughly discredited it makes one sick to know people still buy what they write.

This whole thread has been about proposed bills. If you want to talk about current law and the on going legal challenges we can.

Maybe a history lesson on the origins of gun control can help

Alabama. Race-based total gun ban. Black Code of Alabama in
January 1866 prohibited blacks to own or carry
firearms or other deadly weapons and prohibited "any
person to sell, give, or lend fire-arms or ammunition
of any description whatever" to any black. [The
Reconstruction Amendments' Debates, p. 209, (Alfred
Avins ed., 1967)] (GLJ, p. 345)

Once again, another unrelated example that is in no way comparable to this discussion.

I'll give you the satisfaction. I'm done talking to you in this thread because obviously, you're not interested in a discussion just circular arguments that go no where.
