You're right. While other young men were in the jungle shooting at people who were trying to kill THEM, Nugent was crapping his pants to avoid the draft and screwing underage girls.

Oh, but Nugent is pretty good at killing animals illegally:

Musician to pay $10,000 fine and make ads on responsible hunting.
By CASEY GROVE — Anchorage Daily News

Activist and musician Ted Nugent has signed a plea agreement with federal prosecutors admitting he illegally shot and transported black bear in Southeast Alaska two years ago, according to the agreement.

Nugent, 63, launched an arrow at a black bear while on a bow-hunting trip with friends in Tongass National Forest in May 2009. Federal prosecutors say he wounded the bear, attracted to the hunters by a bait station. Nugent's lawyer says the arrow grazed the animal and it scampered off alive.
Whether injured or merely scratched, the bear got away. Nugent shot and killed another bear four days later. Then he put the scenes on TV.

"The Motor City Madman" was filming on Sukkwan Island, south of Hydaburg, for his TV show "Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild," according Nugent's deal with federal prosecutors, made public Friday.

It's unclear if a viewer notified federal authorities or if the investigators saw the clip themselves.
Nugent and the prosecutors now agree: The second bear was shot illegally. By striking the first bear and killing the second, Nugent exceeded his bag limit for Game Management Unit 2. Transporting the illegal second bear off federal property -- in a boat called the El Dorado -- amounted to a misdemeanor violation of the Lacey Act, the law that prohibits the sale and transport of illegally harvested wildlife and plants, among other things.

Something else to be proud of him for, huh, "Steve?"

You don't know what the hell you're talking about. Bush Jr served his country and was a pilot during the Vietnam War in the Texas Air Guard flying the F-102A Delta Dagger fighter interceptor. Also there are some members on here who also were in the Guard.

Do you think you can fly one of these like George Bush did? Answer me.

He had a student deferment and lost it. Which means he didn't keep his grades up. Then he came up lame for the Draft Board. Amazingly convenient.

Forty years ago the Republicans would have been calling him a draft dodger and a dirty hippie. Today they're making excuses for him so he can be the poster boy for gun ownership. Woo-hoo. They don't want a man who who was in the infantry in Vietnam being the Secretary of Defense .... but they're making a guy who avoided the draft the hero of the Second Amendment. The word hypocrite can be found in your dictionary.
^^This!^^

(I couldn't rep you again.)

Turns out this was a GREAT State of the Union speech.

Forget Nugent. He's a blow-hard who literally crapped in his pants so he wouldn't get drafted. Meh. What a waste of our attention. He's a nothing. He's a burnt out, toked-up loudmouth who nobody in his right mind would hold up as an example of American heroism.

Now then: on to the real heroine of the evening!

Mrs. Desiline Victor. A 102 year old black woman who waited for SIX hours to cast her vote in the election in November. She came to this country from Haiti in 1989 and became a citizen in 2005. How I'd love to have the honor to meet her. Here's to you, Ma'm.

YOU are everything Nugent couldn't even hope to be!

So, are you saying Nugent is a liar?

I am a avid hunter myself. I've been caught before shooting deer after hours, caught shooting ducks over the limit. But I had a good attorney and beat the Game Wardens in court, both times. And by the way, Nugent didn't run from the draft to Canada, nor did he burn his draft card. He showed up for his physical knowing he could possibly go off to Vietnam.

His ass wasn't in the bush like the rest of us. He had a safe out, while still looking patriotic, so don't give me that crap about him and his "service". He was a freaking REMF like most of the rich politician's kids.

Hell! Half the time, he didn't even show up when he was supposed to!

When Bush enlisted in the US equivalent of the Territorial Army, he was given an automatic commission as a second lieutenant and underwent flight training for 13 months. In June 1970, he began what should have been a four-year posting with the 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. However, in May 1972 he moved to Alabama to work on a US senate campaign on the condition that he trained with the National Guard in that state.Nobody has come forward with any memory of Bush serving in the National Guard while in Alabama or when he returned to Texas in 1973. In Alabama, Bush was removed from flight status as he failed to take an annual physical test in July 1972.His last physical test had been in May 1971. Major General Paul A Weaver Jr, who retired in 2002 as head of the Pentagon's Air National Guard, said: "There is no excuse for that. Aviators just don't miss their flight physicals."
