If their job includes firing on someone then damn straight they should expect to be shot at and killed it. If they don't want to be shot and killed, throw down their weapons and stop hunting a man they really have no beef with.

Let's see--if police are searching for someone who's suspected of "three murders"--who's armed and likely to return fire when faced with arrest--they should simply throw their guns and badges in the air and say "Our heart just isn't in this one--maybe he's innocent." That's not even a good enough plotline for a straight-to-DVD Steven Seagal flick...
Morally is what I'm speaking to. If I open fire on a burglar (not robber) he obviously needs to defend his life. He should only be charged with burglary of course he'd be charge with murder as well, but in my opinion that's an unjust law.
