Obama does it will practiced skill and ease. Perhaps one day Rubio will learn from The Master of Deception.

The optics were pretty bad-- but in fairness, it's impossible to come off looking real good compared to a president surrounded by congress, with a hundred applause lines.

What surprised me is that it sounded like a campaign stump speech attacking the President.

Oddly, while he said government is wasteful, terrible, etc, he also talked about how his family and he personally benefitted from it-- which came off to be like "I got mine.. Good luck to you..."

It makes me LOL to think that the GOP seriously does not "get it". Marco Rubio is not going to grab the Latino vote in 2016 and they really don't even care to understand why.

Ugh, lets actually discuss what he said instead of the water of the fact that he was reading from a teleprompter.

He proposed expanding federal loans (and presumably pell grants) to the majority of training programs(they only cover some now), i see that as a good thing. 6 months ago, he voted against that very same thing and also voted to raise the interest rates and cut the amount of money in Pell grants( successfully cut the semesters you can get pell grants).

The last 4 yrs have been shameful.....
I am angry that the republican party is in such shambles that they trotted out this charlaton. Our system of government works better when we have two viable parties. The republicans are not viable at the moment and Rubio was clear evidence of that tonight.

I found his water grab to be completely human. Dry mouth is common when speaking and when doing so with major time constraints. Both men were not specific on much of anything but then I would not expect that from either. I think we will see our first female president in 2016. I think her initials are HC. Why not!

The repubs couldn't have found anybody more amateurish than Rubio to give the response to the POTUS.

Isn't that how Romney & his supporters came off also? Didn't do them much good, did it?
