Honestly, I couldn't care less.

I don't eat prime rib or lobster. That's not the kind of food that I care to put in my body.

I agree, if you look at spend by state your looking at states not known at all for lobster purchases. The states (i.e North East) with high lobster consumption are often cheaper (i got lobster for 7 a lb at Stew Leonrads last year) and are wealthier.

Finding someone who spends foodstamps on lobster is like finding a billonaire who loves subway.

I'm sure there out there, but you have look really hard.

I Think certain things should be bought with food stamps, not luxury items.

Let me guess, someone was standing behind someone with a grocery cart full of prime rib and lobster, and noticed they paid with food stamps.

Escalade, not Mercedes. These little details are soooo important.

People on food stamps don't buy prime rib, they buy caviar and 40 year old single malt Scotch.

Don't be silly, they are not. It's just an old Republican canard.

People on food stamps are not made wealthy by said food stamps to the point where they can buy Dom Perignon, caviar, etc. They are still people in pretty grim circumstances, and they do not live like kings and queens.

Well, I don't eat unclean foods (religious) or any meat actually. If others choose to eat it, it's their choice. So eating lobster is nothing luxurious to me. It's no different than someone eating pork (similarly unclean). So it doesn't bother me either way whether people on food stamps eat any of it.

According to some genius, people who make mininum wage live a better lifestyle than someone making $65,000 a year
