With all talk of Welfare Recipients being drug tested, what about Government Leaders?

Being VERY highly paid with generous benefits, and making critical national decisions, shouldn't ALL elected officials and appointed officials be Drug Tested for both Rx and illegal drugs?

Shouldn't levels of prescription drugs at levels higher than prescribed be immediate cause for dismissal and prosecution and losing all future government payments?

Without a doubt they should be. Never happen though.

Yes, as long as the law allows drug testing in the workplace the people should have the right to test their employees.

I love this thread lol. I don't believe in drug testing. I believe judging people on their actions and behavior. What we need is better rehabilitation resources. Not stricter enforcement.

Before the drug war there wasn't drug testing. The economy moved fine and businesses stayed open.

Definitely not against this!

...Ok, seriously, I believe in legalizing the majority of drugs. But if it is necessary for welfare recipients, then it should be for politicians too.

BS nobody should be drug tested. why don't we instead test something worth dealing with, like testing all of the products we use for harmful substances.

Why not?

Teachers can be drug tested, because they are trusted with children.

Politicians are trusted with the entire nation.
