I would hire the one with the best work history, good references, and who showed up on time, prepared. Believe it or not, just because a person has a crime in their background, it doesn't mean he/she hasn't tried hard to turn it around, and have all those things.

Well that is the problem. We as a society haven't figured out the right about of time that should be served for a punishment. For example, real child molesters shouldn't see the light of day again.

No, a higher rate of arrest! And arrests mean nothing.

Amen. That happens to be the law.

Some ethnic groups can get arrested far more often and some ethnic groups average a more moderate height. If you use these irrelevant factors, you will be winnowing out some ethnic groups and your criteria will not be job-related at all.

And, that is unfair and illegal.

It amazes me that some folks cannot haul this aboard.
Some ethnic groups commit more crimes than others too apparently. That doesn't appear to matter to anyone though.

I don't care what ethnic group your in. If your in the "formal felon" group then I'm hiring somebody else.

So you would hire a murderer to work in the bank instead of a thief? Or a thief to work in your day care center or to flip burgers? What if they steal all the burger patties out of the freezer? I guess your up **** creek without a paddle.

Yeah, if ANYONE is that dangerous, they should be in jail. Otherwise, if they're out, they should be able to get a job and be productive
